Thanks Nigel,
I will follow up on the ECU thread. There is also a pressure port located on the right hand injector. It is a schrader valve and it should read 58 psi according to S&S. I should be able to read the system pressure with an AC guage that I have. I'm really hoping for a marginal fuel pump vs an unknown intermittent failure.
when i had a sudden engine stop, the AA man removed this. It sends a real good squirt of petrol into the air, Dont put your head over it else you get an eyeful !!
I have three dead stop events. One when both plugleads came off simultaneously !!???
Second was a broken cam belt and third was a broken cam bearing. This was tricky to find as the belt looked fine. Had to watch whilst turned motor over to see the eccentric movement of the broken cam bearing/keyway.
On my own i had to set up a video cam looking at cams whilst i hit the starter motor.
There is a accident fuel cutoff switch which is just under the oil tank. Maybe this is a bit touchy/sensitive if you hit any bumps at speed
cheers
