Hello Joe. Was at the wall only last month with my 4/4. Great walking country and great driving country for that matter. Some of the terrain is difficult and it can be very bleak but if the weather is on your side it is magnificent. There are a number of very interesting roman forts to visit especially Housesteads and Vindalanda, and the roman army museum at Vindalanda is worth a visit. Some great b and bs in the area and good pubs. If you fancy staying in a castle try Langley Castle (part of the leading hotels of the world group) near Hexham. Anyway have a great time.
