Colin what an experience to live through with your son, amazing pride tinged with the sadness of the other young hopeful that was robbed of his dream future.
It must have been a very difficult place to move on from for your son at the time, and very focussing for you as a parent.
Those memories of Twickenham are there forever what a brilliant day for you both, you must have invested heavily in him in many ways for him to achieve that level of success well done you.
We have an ex Tiger with a second home at the bottom of our garden his wifes name is Kay. He is at home at the local events and beach and fits in easily with village life.
Another ex England player (played with MOJ) who was part of the World Cup winning team has a second home in the centre of our village, I suspect these homes are not only boltholes but are part of their pension plans and a very wise move too.
Good to hear your son has settled into a great family life as this seems to elude some at this level going by what we read.
Obviously my topic title was designed to provoke thought and it has achieved that and some most interesting real experiences have surfaced which it has been a privilege to read.
I am pleased with the outcome so far and just hope the police pursue this case to a fitting conclusion and that justice is done to discourage others.
