Bonjour,
I’ve been shamed into saying ‘Hello’. I wouldn’t have done it but I’ve seen a fair number of the others doing it, so here I am, doing the decent thing.
The Whizzer is a 1987 4/4 4-seater, in Corsa Red, and there aren’t many people out there who have a nicer car! I, a 1948 model in grey hair, purchased her with an inheritance in 2001. The name was given by a maiden aunt, the first time she saw the car, and has stuck. As she, the maiden aunt, died earlier this year, there is no way the name is going to change now.
I have been living in France for 28+ years but still bleed English when I cut myself, which happens quite often when I work on the car. I tell myself it’s an effective technique for renewing my blood and keeps my antibodies on form. On a Monday morning, my colleagues can now tell if I’ve been working on the car over the weekend by the scars. I should mention that a couple of years ago, I got my first ½ spanner under the Haynes system.
Le Mans is in my GPS for irregular visits to the 24 Hours and the Classic weekends. The Whizzer’s front passenger seat and a good sleeping bag make for a tolerable night’s sleep.
Voila, that’s a pretty full picture.
A bientot.
