It appears that S&S recommend an oil change after 300 miles to get rid of the swarf that may be in the engine, then another one around the 1000 miles figure, after that probably every 3000. Excessive maybe, but for the cost of the oil and a half an hours work, probably worth doing, especially if one plans to keep the car for a while.
