It is strange. We decided to drive straight through Switzerland on the way home last year rather than pay for another night in a hotel. A certain sudden desire for pizza may have had some influence on the decision
We finished up with about 100km, from San Bernadino to Lugano, in the dark with light rain (and thankfully some very polite and considerate truck drivers).
A good part of that is narrow mountain road and at first I had trouble finding a place to stop and put the hood up. Then I realised that at the speed we were doing absolutely nothing was coming in so we pressed on and arrived in Italy in time to eat a late pizza.
On other occasions, in Italy, the inside of the screen had to be wiped down. Perhaps Swiss rain has some different quality.
