In reality retirement is much more complex judging by some of our neighbours , they are looking after their grandchildren as their children are at work or on holiday and they are also looking after their elderly parents !
Yep, and 'looking after' will often mean financially as well - sandwiched between school and university fees on one hand and care home fees on the other as the State options are either unavailable or of such poor quality (in the more overcrowded bits of the UK) that you would not wish it upon your loved ones.
