I will try to replicate your pics with ones from my own M3W so we can compare. That extra welding is intriguing, can't figure out what purpose it serves. Love the Grifith btw, count me as a very jealous man now!
Btw is your car #50? My dealer told me the M3W Brooklands series is over now, last one recently sold, I wonder if it was your second one to close the production.
PS - About silencers touching the heat shields, I have that problem on the right side, since the second set (fitted at Williams). After a few miles the exhaust tube, with silencer, "slides/rotates" clockwise up to the point when the silencer leans against the shield. After a while, when the silencer is no longer hot, it is as simple as pushing it back to its place. I tried to tighten the bracket (or clamp?) but it didn't make any difference. I Specifically asked the guys that are now fitting the 3rd set to see if that problem gets solved.
