Steve I am not sure that the Brighton Speed Trials were Britain's first motor sport event. I think that research will show that there was a competitive speed event at Bexhill in 1902. http://www.discoverbexhill.com/bexhillmotorracing.phpLike Brighton , the event took place along the sea front. I know you to be correct, I visited Bexhill a couple of years ago and recall reading the info. I was lazy and simply cut and pasted from Brighton tourist office.
