Gatewright,
I am the TM'er with the SS100. I have previously owned 2 brilliant Morgans but I like to change every couple of years.
Of course, any car is a matter of personal choice and preference however, after two years of owning my factory built SS100, I can honestly say it is brilliant. It amuses me at every show I attend watching the antics of the "rivet counters" trying to decide if it a "real one" or not.
The finish is really good and not at all plastic like, the interior is all leather and quite comfortable.
The sound and fury of blasting around the Norfolk lanes behind the great XK 6 cylinder engine has to be experienced to be believed. The only point I tend to agree on with another TM'er is the steering. It's not that there is anything wrong with it, far from it, the tactile input is fine, it's just that the tyres being cross ply Blockleys and not much bigger than some mountain bikes, don't have the ultimate grip of a Morgan on it's modern rubber. The Morgan is more of a sports car, the SS100 is more of an event.
Strangely, I was directed back to the Talk Mog site as I am now looking to change again and I am thinking of a Plus 8 so if I find a nice one, the SS100 may have to go.
As for price, I think they currently go for about 85,000.00/90,000.00 GBP although you can buy one of Noel Edmunds Riviera versions for between 100,000.00 to 150,000.00.
Good used ones ( factory built )sell for around 73,000.00. In conclusion, al I can say is go and have a look, the factory is just like a small version of the Morgan site with just the same level of enthusiasm.
If I can be of any further help, please PM me you never know perhaps I will sell you mine !!!!
