We were on a 4000k road trip from Queenstown to Auckland and return in New Zealand. On our Second day we inadvertently hit a 120mm high rock pretty much amidships at about 90k. There was an almighty bang and the engine cut out. We thought our road trip had come to a sudden halt. We were able to coast in to a garage and there had a mechanic check our problem out. He was at a complete loss.
I had a sudden brain fart remembering a comment on Talk Morgan about an Engine cutout. I had noticed this rubber thing on the left hand Fire wall and after pushing it the engine started ok. We felt right joes but we're very happy to continue on our way.
When is the cutout designed to act?
We are in Auckland babysitting prior to continuing our trip South again really enjoying our + 4 motoring in the sunshine.
