I had everything planned for retirement at 65; but at the age of 60 was diagnosed with an illness. Lots of time off work and I struggled on until my 62nd birthday, when I retired.
I miss parts of my job; I miss the banter; but retirement is great. Financially it was a bit of a struggle, but that will improve when I hit 65 (this month)
Time for my mates; time to do nothing, if I feel like it; time to watch people still at work, still rushing about.
Trust me, if you are still fit and well consider yourself very lucky and make sure you enjoy life.
