Exactly: years ago, about 1978 my neighbour built a NG TC Roadster, based on the remains of a rusted out MGB. He wanted a Morgan or a classic MG TF but couldn't afford the real thing.

It wasn't ar all bad, but he had to re use the MG suspension and shocks, through lack of funds. It rode reasonably, looked good but was far more basic than a Mog, the lack of hood and side screens made it a very fair weather car.

I think he sold it in about 2002 and if you discount the hours of labour, got back about what he paid for it.
