Anyway back to the engine bottom, were's DaveW I am sure he can give me some sensible advice even if you lot can't.
He did, top of page 2 (assuming 10 posts per page) a couple of posts before you made this query...
All I would do with that is a lick of aluminium paint. Nothing more. Lacquer won't stay on very well, it's a hostile environment, assuming the oil gets hot...........
