Don't assume later cars are any better as the GDI has an appalling manifold and the Duratech doesn't look much better. A decent manifold and cat will make a discernable difference but it's not like adding throttle bodies, for example, and whether the difference is value for money depends on your own views. Personally I think it is but others will disagree.
