Given that most +8's have a tiny annual mileage I can understand those who say what the heck when it comes to topping the tank up or indeed the frequency. However, there are those who view the opportunity to take the car abroad for a holiday, or even run it as a reasonably regular second car.
Paying through the nose for pathetic fuel economy becomes more important here, and anyone who's journey involves traffic density will laugh out loud at anyone boasting about how much fuel they use. You only queue at the slowest car's rate, after all.
