But it's not though, is it? If someone wants to poodle along at 40mph in a national speed limit , on a leafy B road, on their way to a WI coffee morning, why should they be forced to do 60 when they are just not up to it, and there are many many motorists who drive slowly to increase the fuel economy of their cars.

I find these people as annoying as the rest of us, but there is no legal reason why they should drive faster than they feel comfortable. Besides, many of my journeys are from A to A just for the fun of being at the wheel of a responsive piece of machinery.
