Thought I would share this weekend’s endeavours. Spent a few hours hacking and bashing in the garage again. Not a great fan of wind-stops but just couldn’t resist making one anyway. Hopefully this will make those touring trips a little more bearable for the long suffering
Inspired by Dave’s “how to” headrest version but with a slightly different twist regarding the attachments. Using a couple of homebrew quick release catches this little stop can be installed/removed in seconds without removing the headrest.
5mm Perspex makes the stop is stiff and ridged.
Clamps made from 12mm Acetal. A nice strong engineering plastic that is easy to work with and can be picked up on ebay.
The geometry ensures only a very light holding force is transferred to the headrests and seat.
And can be stowed down behind the seats when the side screens are off and the baseball cap is on.
All that remains now is a decent test drive
