I have a brochure/catalogue from September 1971 and a radio is not a listed option - this covers 4/4, +4 and +8.
However things had changed by 1999 as my present models catalogue lists a radio and aerial.
Mine came fitted with a Becker Mexico with matching 6 X CD stacker and 100w Bass booster, the previous owner was in the music business.
It's handy to listen to whilst fettling in the garage.
My 1993 Plus 8 had one fitted as a factory extra.
