Not a lot I can say about the bit of warmth around the legs
I have the same HOE J Worrall heater box as you Ben Duncan sorted it out and fitted new home made rubber gaskets the old open top thing let leaves in he put the heater nearer the bulk head cleaned it all out . Returning from MOG 2014 I had to carry some stuff so the hood s/screens and hood went up but the heater pull stuck ( sorted ) it was like being in a furnace .
twisted all the way home it being to hot . Yet with it open you never notice or feel the warmth even with a 3 zip ton cover .
Because we also drive in the winter? Also when I go to work at 06:30, even in summer it can be bit nippy, and a bit of warmth around the legs is very welcome.
