As already said, the Midlands area is a good place to break your journey and what better place than Malvern where a tour around the factory would be a great idea if you had time. And if you don't have the time, at least you will see the area where your car started its life.
I can't comment on what accommodation is available apart from a pleasant B&B that Numog and I stayed in last week in the Barnards Green area of Malvern, a mile from the factory. It's called the Cannara Guest House and has four en suite bedrooms, some secure parking and is run by a charming couple.
