I'll cross from Dover to either Calais or Dunkirk.
I'm currently thinking of crossing on Sun 30th Aug, maybe stopping in Reims the first night then 2 nights in Mulhouse to make time for the Schlumpf museum. But if you have better suggestions that would be great.
Then onto Grindelwald arriving on Wed night and I've booked into the Kreuz & Post

The route I have will take you mainly through small curvy inland roads which are very time consuming.
Starting in Calais or Dunkirk heading to the Belgium Ardennes near Namur heading south east via the Meusse river towards the Vosges and Jura.
For this route you need to calculate the full three days.
But it's also all depending on the weather.
The route will remain not to far from the motorway so if you're done with the winding road or the weather turns bad you change on the motorway and heading for Basel.
