Feel sorry for him - bit of a comedown from being the boss in your eponymous (?) car company to being a rep selling a security system and working for someone else. Its a fair old adjustment to make - I once hired someone from a similar albeit less patrician background and he found it difficult to be a subordinate and the loss of status to be hard.
