I am involved with the finances of a sailing association. We do not offer payment by credit card and most of our members pay the annual subscription by DD. We receive the full value of the subscription into the accounts but the bank service charges include a monthly fee for processing the DD payments with a minimum charge of £50. We have around 500 members with an annual subscription of about £35. The charges for processing direct debit payments are equivalent to £1.41 per member per year.
