I'm not sure about the, "can't drive because of insurance" statement.
On a bike here in the US if I'm endorsed as a motorcycle rider, I'm good to ride any other bike. But from an insurance standpoint, my personal insurance will cover the vehicle I'm driving and vice versa.
So what was the reason you couldn't drive his or him yours?
