Although it stops charging when the battery is full it remains live. It makes no sense to turn it off like this because it might equally cause trouble while I'm at work or in bed.
I have used the same CTEK XS3600 since October 2010, first on a Caterham and now on the Morgan. A vital piece of kit and no trouble at all. It is on all the time. Like DaveW I can't see the point of turning it off whilst away, yet leaving it on at night when at home. Three/four weeks away, say, and come back to a flat battery? No thanks. This is precisely what they are designed for - as anyone who SORNs, and uses one, will tell you.
