Could you give me the Chassis number of your 1938 two seater please?
I did read of a 1938 that was for sale a year ago that the factory had re-engined from the CC to the Standard Specialin 1939. It is this sort of change plus the odd engine that Morgan thrashed to death "testing" that could account for the total 40 Standard Special engines supplied.
We have also found #930 that was factory built out of "secondhand" parts, including a Standard Special engine, and delivery after the war.
