I fit into the "norm" - 95% of my journeys could be done with easy in an EV. The problem is that the other 5% of the journeys make up 50% of my KMs per year. I'll drive to the UK at least once a year - and will clock 1100km each way. The EV journey planner suggested 5 stops (gulp) for the drive - which on a fast cruise might be 1 too many. So 4 stops at 30mins = 2 hours on the journey. With a traditional ICV we'll stop twice - for a quick toilet break and fill with fuel (say 15mins).
The EV would "cost" 90mins more for the journey - and push it into the realms of being uncomfortable. With an overnight stop (and confirmed charging on site) it would probably be OK.
I'd like to try one for such a long trip to see if it could work - as it is the only part that I struggle to get my head round.
