BUT I do think that if the 3.7 Roadster is to continue then all new 3.7s should be offered with the upgrade as a "no cost" Aero Racing after market option.

I also suspect that the reason they cannot simply supply new cars with the after market ECU is that this would void the Euro 6 homologation, so all new cars must be fitted with the OEM ECU and then "corrected" as an after market modification.

Can anyone confirm this?

I think this is more or less the right, the ECU was developed by MBE.
