As this is my first Aero I cannot bring any experience to which tyre is best. I have used a lot of different tyres including Comp/Track in the past though.

I had a number of tyres on my Skyline 33V when it was around 550bhp and can share some experiences.

1. Comp/Track Day tyres often assume "STIFF" suspension and so have slightly more flexible sidewalls which makes for an odd road experience.

2. The milage you get out of a "Soft" comp tyre will be something in the region of 1000-2000 miles on the driven wheels, 2000-5000 on the medium/hard version in my experience. You had better be rich if you want to use them on a regular basis for your road car !

3. They are only "better" when up to temperature which can be hard on a cold/wet UK road. Otherwise they are grouchy and have a tendency to introduce you to hedges you have never met before.

4. They require very careful pressure management to get the contact spot right, usually slightly lower than I expected compared to standard road rubber for mine.

All that being the negative stuff. On a good warm day, once you have got some temperature into them then they do provide a significant increase in breaking and final 90% grip which continued to surprise me all the time.

You do need to be willing to put the effort in to see the best out of them.

I used Yokohama A048 on the Skyliner as I got a steer from one of the racing people from Austrlia when I was down under once. I never had trouble deploying all of the power and watching peoples faces even after they were warned was quite interesting.

I had to use the Skyliner every day so it was difficult to face the cost of using comp tyres all the time, if your Aero is a weekend blaster then it could be a lot more practical. Just think through your % time in hot/dry/clear roads or track versus real world driving and how conflicted the demands on your pockets are. I loved it when they were on.

I have just got Yoko Parada 2 put on mine as I cannot face paying to replace them that often however the temptation to put 888 was very very high. When it arrives I will be happy to share my experience.
