Quoting Nippymog:- "in normal driving, the bevel box constantly approaches 100°C and regularly peaks at 120°C".
Bearing in mind that, unlike the engine, there is no combustion taking place in the bevel box, all this heat must be produced by friction.
If the friction produces this amount of heat, how much power is that friction absorbing?
