LOL.....I started writing a reply to Howard's last comment and just deleted it......realised that I just can't be bothered!
Oh dear! Were you going to explain to Howard that far from being an 'invented' name, Audi has a lineage which goes back to Horch in 1909, being a Latin (near) translation of the family name that was denied to poor August Horch as a trademark. Audi as a marque pre-dates VW by over 30 years, albeit it was only resurrected as 'recently' as 1965.
