Hello Guys, Sorry I've been away from the PC the last couple of days. Thanks for all your comments - there really is a wealth of helpful information and experiences within the TM collective. The easiest thing for me to tackle first is probably the fuel pump (I have already purchased, but not yet fitted a new fuel filter). I know that the item from Morgan is circa £400.00, but I can see that there appear to be cheaper alternatives/copies. Which is replacement have you used & where from? Prior to this I need to test the system pressure, where is the valve - I've looked and couldn't see one near the injectors, also what type of gauge do you use? My exhausts do get very hot, very quickly - the headers will glow after only a couple of minutes of idling from cold. To try and reduce the heat build up and improve general running/breathing, I have today collected the MMC stage 1 kit from Malvern - my thinking is that the gases will exit more quickly & the engine management/mixture will function better - not being strangled by the air filter.
I don't think the problem is a venting issue - I have tried with the cap removed - makes no difference.
I did think that maybe in running the tanks so low (210miles) and refilling, I might have stirred up some debris from the bottom of the tanks which was blocking or impeding the fuel supply somewhere - which is why I thought about the fuel filter?
The car has never shown the engine management light (unless I missed it!).
You mention a local (to me) S & S engine specialist - please forward details. If the fuel pump & or filter aren't the culprits, then I may need his help.
Can I ask a further question - my headers are a long way from shiny stainless, has anybody had theirs ceramic or similar coated. If so what are your thoughts.
Thanks again - I eagerly await your thoughts.
Andrew
