The car is transformed by these mods, making it more reliable and better to drive. If your just planning to use it for the odd weekend short trip then the original would probably be fine and would leave some money to out right anything that breaks. If you want something you can just batter and enjoy then go for the later chassis with all the mods. Also remember that a buyer that knows what they are looking for will try and use the older chassis as a reason to get a deal. You might end up finding it hard to move on. But good luck anyway, they are loads of (all year) fun. If you have come from a bike an don't mind doing some of your own fettling then there is nothing to touch it.
