I took the new Aero 8 out yesterday.
The pale one featured in Miscellany this month.

The differences between the "old" +8 chassis and the S5 Aero 8 Chassis are subtle, but it is clearly optimized more as a road car. The clutch take up is MUCH more progressive than on any other Aero I've driven and the gear change is just fine.

BUT I didn't really like it.

Why?

It is a nice modern car with a few interesting characteristics, but it is a bit bland. Almost too refined...
Also there is no storage space inside the cockpit. The boot is nice and works well.

I'd driven up to the factory, hood down, to allow them to check the "Aeroman Roll Bar" will fit with normal, not Tillet, seats. It will. I then drove back, 220 miles for the round trip, hood down all the way. There is something delightful about driving in the dark with the roof down.

I got home with a filthy car, but happy.

Anyway, the car goes back next week and will return with a roll bar (decorative use only) fitted.....!

So, would I swap the Plus 8 for an Aero S5? Not at all sure.
