Logs are stored in none volatile ram that's why they don't vanish in latter ecu's but getting rid of an engine lamp via a power reset if you don't have a code reader gives you an idea if it is a transient fault or a permanent fault ie more serious
It'll be interesting to see if I get any codes after being away from my mog for a while ie where petrol has dropped it's potency for instance causing knock etc.
