olleyjp,

Don't like tattoo's even though some of them can be nice to look at. Why, is difficult to explain. I think I like to see the real thing, not the pimped version. Bit like excessive make up. Most of the times they do not give me positive vibes about the wearer. Often it is a spur of the moment thing, that must be the worst form. The "art" itself might be time-less but your taste can/will change over the years. At 16 you think a motorhead album cover is the db's, but later in life you might not be so chuffed with the whole scene on your body.
Many tattoos are just the latest fad and follow fashion like clothes and jewelery. Like all that tribal stuff. What does it mean, what does it represent? What does it tell me about the wearer? Maybe I am just old fasioned? Aside from discrete tatoos on easily covered parts, or tattoos with life long sentimental values, I would advise anyone against. But then luckily everyone can decide for them self. PS; Why do you need opinions on kids 18+ only? My oldest (girl) is 16, no tattoos, she wanted them when she was 13, we discouraged, now she is glad. Cheers JJW.
