Well it was insured and Chubb sent me a cheque without complaint for the full amount - I replaced it. I was lucky not to have been killed in the boat accident - only a dislocated shoulder.
So I got lucky - sort of.
I do occasionally Google to see if anyone has found a gold Breguet in the Solent - also the watch is on Breguet's missing list, so it should come back to me eventually if it's ever found.
