I looked into this when the paint on Aldermog's screen supports started to fail.

Seems to me there are 3 solutions:

1. Buy new screen supports from MMC and then strip and re-finish the old ones: because of the way the screen clips to the top of the pillar they will always chip if painted or powder coated. Rotate the pillars every 2 or 3 years.....

2. Commission cast 314 stainless replacements. After some research I established that a minimum batch would be 20 pairs and they would still be about £400 the pair because the castings would need to be machined and polished. So that is £8K outlay and you'd have to sell on at about £600 a pair to make it worthwhile. Doing it in Eastern Europe would halve the price.

3. Ignore the cosmetic ageing, cal it "patina".....

I'm following option 3, I think, but if someone offered option 2 at £300 a pair, well I might change...
