There are already three old rail tunnels at Woodhead. One is in use for the national grid. A new road tunnel is a waste of public money. There are already fast trains between Sheffield & Manchester. The old route should be reopened and re - electrified. It was one of the first overhead electrifications which started before WW2 by the LNER.
