I owned a Bentley 'R' Type 1954. Even a Leak Down test did not indicate problems (not so sure mechanic knew how to do a leak down test). In any event when taken apart just about all the piston rings were broken. Bentley/Rolls install a stainles something liner in the top of the cylinders. With mileage the cylinders turn into an hour glass breaking the piston rings. A good Bentley Mechanic can help You. Suggest talking to Norman Gleeson (English) and well known and get some guidance. He helped Me.
