Photos taken with digital cameras, or even cell phones, tend to be quite high resolution, and therefore large files, these days.

There are several ways in which you can reduce the size. 800 x 600 pixels is generally large enough for the forum. Any image editing software has the capability of reducing the image size and there are programs such as Fotosizer that can be used. If all else fails you can email the photo to yourself in a reduced size. Usually this function is available when you "right click" on the image and choose the send as an email attachment option. You usually then get some options about the size of the image to send.
