Here is my solution:

4" square 4 foot long fence post on a trolley jack under the back of the car in line with the end of the chassis.

Lift the car until a pair of axle stands will fit under each end of the post.

Now, at the front, jack up until another pair of stands will fit under the 2 chassis outriggers that the number plate bolts on to.

This is very stable and can be raised as far as the stands will go.

Mine sits like this all winter while I clean and tinker.

In the photo you can just see the fence post.
