I use Google maps on my android phone.
It's pretty good at picking up live traffic delays, and fast to route around them.
In the last week I'm being prompted to download my local area map - which will save on data & startup speed.
It was the speed to get going, and to correct/reroute my journey that got me to throw away my TomTom about 10 years ago.

Waze has been part of google for maybe 5 years now: I ;like that it shows the cause of delays, and can alert to a police presence on your route. & that the speed limit is prominent.
But I stopped using it in favour of Google maps.
If the signal's seriously dodgy, try Here - the maps are downloaded once to your phone.
It used to be owned by Nokia, and is now owned by a consortium of car makers. Although, again, like Waze, I find Google maps works so well I've not had cause to use it recently.
