Firstly - let me declare an interest - I live near Loughborough and count Taylors Bell Foundry as one of the special things in our area.
It was sad that the contract for the Olympic bell cast specially for the London Olympics was awarded to the Whitechapel foundry who, lacking the capacity to cast a bell of that size, then subcontracted the work to a non-UK foundry. Taylors still have the capacity to cast bells of that size - in fact the mound for Great Paul still exists.
