I'm not sure what the arrangement is on the 3 wheelers, but on the 4 wheelers you can set the adjustment on the clutch to give a bit of slack and then the force of the clutch pedal return spring enables you to rest your foot on the pedal without taking up any of the slack and engaging the clutch. That's what I've been doing for the last 60,000 miles and I haven't worn a clutch out yet....
