I've done the "proper" one a few times (3 IIRC) and the classic once. You definitely get closer to the action at the classic although I was disappointed by the lack of "Goodwood" attire.
The "Proper" one is "proper" expensive - especially if you want a fairly secure spot for pieces of expensive metal.
