Only flaw I can think of is related to the ECU and how much fuel is injected. More air needs more fuel.

Can't fault the theory that more air requires more fuel , or it will run lean. To the best of my knowledge modern ECUs have adaptive learning EPROMs so when the air mass sensor detects a higher mass of air, the ECU should refer to the fuel map for that particular combination of throttle opening and engine load (plus other lesser variables) and then send a message to the injectors for the correct amount of fuel. I am no expert and there are many here whose knowledge is greater than mine, so I will wait their comments.
