Hi Dan-Lockwood......point well made.... but I would rather take the blanking grommet out from under the torque compensator housing every week or so to drain out any water than risk the amount road dirt and gundge that will enter via a 46mm hole that is 6 inches off the road!! The position of the slot for the steering rack is much less likely to let in dirt as well as moisture.
The blanking plug I have sourced is an aircraft part and at the moment the store man at the flying club is on leave ..... hopefully I can get a part number when he returns.....watch this space!
