Not sure but I tour with both side screens in. Easy storage. Always in the right place at the right time and helps with the wind buffeting. All in all just more comfortable. When it rains I put up the hood. Bright, hot, sun I use My "Bimini Top". Made of white Sunbrella it keeps light rain off and protects from the Wind and Sun. I do not use the side curtains with the "Bimini Top". Two of My Morgans have a "Bimini Top". The DHC has a zipper in the hood for ventilation.
